Welcome to Indiana University! We are excited you are exploring your next steps to transfer to one of our IU campuses. No matter your transfer pathway or unique needs, Indiana University faculty and staff are well equipped to support you in achieving your educational goals. Our vast transfer resources provide you with the support and confidence to make a successful transition to one of our Indiana University campuses.
Transferring to IU is a big decision, but we can make it easier.
In fall 2019, IU undergraduate transfer students rated IU high in satisfaction of access to campus support and services, overall class scheduling options, access to academic advising, and admittance to program of choice.
Transfer Steps
Here are steps you can take to make the transfer process go smoothly.
Find out what campus you would like to attend. Explore your options at various IU campuses, make an advising appointment, and bring your transcripts to your appointment. (Once you have made the decision to come to IU, you will need to have official transcripts sent from all previous campuses attended.)
Discover and explore which majors are offered at the campus or campuses you are interested in. Learn more about specific course plans for any degree through IU Degree Maps.
Once you have decided on which campus you'd like to attend, apply to your chosen campus. Learn how your credits may transfer to campus by using the Credit Transfer Service (CTS).
Find funding for your education through scholarships, grants, and loans. Each campus has its own grant, scholarship, and loan information. Check out the Tools for Transfer page to make an estimate of your educational costs through MoneySmarts.
Familiarize yourself with policies that affect transfer students because some of these policies may directly affect how your credits will transfer.
